About Kim Hart, LPC

When I was younger, I thought I might want to be a crop duster.

I had visions of being a news anchor on television like Jane Pauley (now I’m really aging myself).
I entertained the thought of going into medicine and becoming a nurse anesthetist, or going into sales. Years of listening to Zig Ziglar made me think anything was possible for my life. (Look up his old YouTube videos—he was amazing!!) Around that same time, the world of self-help books, like See You at the Top, and The Power of Positive Thinking, came bursting onto the scene. Changing your outcome by changing your thinking was a fascinating concept to me.

So, after several years of reporting for news outlets like WKMX Radio and WTVY and WSFA Television, I took a job as a pharmaceutical sales representative, combining my interest in medicine and sales. The last pharmaceutical medicine I sold was Suboxone, a unique partial opiate agonist for pain pill dependency. This is where my interest in addiction and all mental health maladies took off.

In 2014, I opened SOAR Counseling & Recovery, and several years later, I decided to return to college and earn my master’s degree in clinical mental health. I’ve been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2022, and I LOVE what I do.

(And I thank the LORD He led me away from flying airplanes. I would never have made it!)

I am a mother and grandmother and faithful follower of Christ. I love hiking and exercising and spending time with friends, as well as traveling when my schedule allows. I’m a self-taught clogger, and I love to dance.

I believe that God has given me a passion for helping people achieve their desires of living whole, healthy lives.
